Golog Child Fund
Most Tibetan families are (partially) living as nomads. This means that their children do not get appropriate education, they cannot read or write. For the future of these children it is extremely important that they get the right education in a quickly changing Tibet, which is a part of China with its fast pace of change.
A first group of children has been adopted by some private individuals who donate a yearly contribution. A house was rent, there is a 'care mother' who takes care of the children and takes them to school. The orphans are always with the care mother; during the holidays the others join their nomad parents.
Some time ago the person who started this initiative asked the Golog Support Foundation to take over all activities. We were happy to do continue, stabilize and extend these activities. We opened a separate bank account to keep all financial flows clearly separated from the other Golog Support activities. Golog Child Fund donators know exactly that their money is spent for this specific activities.
It would be great if we could start a second group of ten children to give more nomad children the same opportunities. Our local contact person, Tak-Nohr, takes care of all activities in the region.
Because we have no 'overhead', all the money can be spent on the support of these children.

The daily costs of living are at minimum € 25 per month for one child. That is exclusive special costs like medical costs and a moderate remuneration for the care mother. With the € 3500 that we received in 2009, we paid for eleven children:
- housing
- meals
- clothing
- education
- the care mother
Additionally it was possible to pay boarding for three children that had to attend a more remote school, so that they could not stay at home.
Money Transfer.
Donations to the special Golog Child Fund bank account are, with the exception of a reservation for medical expenses, transfered to our local contact person, Tak-Nhor. He manages the budget and reports back to our foundation.
Organisational costs.
We don't have any organisational costs; all the work is done by volunteers. The costs of publicity (like this website) and the bank account, are payed from the general means of the foundation. Visits to the region (which could not take place so far) will be payed privately.
